Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah on Saturday accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of corruption. reported Hindustan Times. He even compared the party to the Congress, and said the Arvind Kejriwal-led party was worse. “While Congress was known to be a government of scams, there has been no government in Delhi more corrupt than the AAP so far,” the senior BJP leader said.

“When the AAP came to power, the people of Delhi felt that it will deliver good governance,” Shah said. “However, in a short span of time, it has indulged in corruption like no other party has.” He was speaking at a rally of booth-level workers in Delhi in the run up to the civic body elections in April 2017.

Shah said the Kejriwal government should initiate a magisterial inquiry into the charges against its leaders. “Thirteen of your MLAs are facing criminal cases. How do you explain that?” he said.

Shah spoke about his party’s development agenda as he urged the Delhi residents to vote his party to power in the civic polls. “MCD election will work for laying the foundation for assembly elections,” Shah said. “To ensure development, there should be a government, which is not indulged in fighting with the Centre. MCDs should work in coordination with the centre and state government for the growth.”

Union ministers Venkaiah Naidu, Nirmala Sitharaman, Jitendra Singh, Harshvardhan, Meenakshi Lekhi, Mahesh Girri, Pravesh Verma, Vijay Goel and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari were present at the rally.
