The Mumbai police on Wednesday issued a ban on all flying objects, including gliders and drones, over perceived threats of aerial attacks. The ban will remain in place between March 31 and April 29.
A notification from the Mumbai police said there is a possibility of an attack by antisocial elements through drones, para-gliders or remote-controlled micro-light aircraft. “There is every likelihood of breach of peace and disturbance of the tranquility,” the notification added.
The order issued by the deputy commissioner of police (operations), Greater Mumbai, says only aerial surveillance by the police will be allowed and anyone violating the order will be punished.
