Maharashtra Police file FIR against Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra in Rs 24-lakh cheating case
The couple has been accused of duping a textile firm owner in Bhiwandi city of Thane district.
The Maharashtra Police on Thursday filed a First Information Report against Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra in connection with a cheating case. The couple has been accused of duping a textile firm owner of Rs 24 lakh. The case was registered at a Thane police station, reported PTI.
The owner of the textile unit in Bhiwandi city has said that the couple had collected the money on his behalf, however, they did not pay him. “Best Deal, a company in which Shetty and Kundra are directors, collected money from customers for sale of bedsheets on behalf of Malotia Textiles through TV ads, but did not [allegedly] pay Malotia Textiles the proceeds,” an unidentified police official told the news agency.
