Gujarat BJP MP claims he was drugged and filmed after lawyer accuses him of rape
The Valsad legislator claimed the woman and her associates had threatened to release ‘objectionable’ photos of him if he did not give them Rs 5 crore.
Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Gujarat, KC Patel, who has been accused of raping a woman lawyer, claimed that he was drugged before “objectionable” photos of him were taken by a gang led by the Delhi-based complainant. Patel has also filed a police complaint in Delhi alleging that she had demanded Rs 5 crore from him. Police are looking for the woman and her associates, IANS reported.
The Valsad legislator alleged that the woman and her associates have threatened to release the photos and videos if he does not comply with their demands. “These are all false allegations, I have full faith in law. I will cooperate with the investigation,” Patel told ANI.
The lawyer had filed a complaint alleging that the MP had raped her at his official residence on March 3, after inviting her over for dinner. She said Patel had raped her on several other occasions also. A lower court in Delhi had asked the police to submit an action-taken report and ordered an investigation officer to track the case, after Delhi Police reportedly refused to register an FIR, IANS reported. She alleged that Patel had attempted to blackmail her not to contact the police.
However, Patel claimed the woman had spiked his drink after inviting him over to her residence in Ghaziabad, saying that she needed his help with something. Patel added that the woman has attempted this con with other parliamentarians as well.
