Amazon sets up studio in Gurugram to support its fashion business
Brands with exclusive deals with the company can use the 44,000-sqft area to create better digital catalogues.
Amazon India on Wednesday opened an Amazon Fashion Studio in Gurugram – it has one each in New York and London. Brands with exclusive deals with the e-commerce giant can use the 44,000-sqft imaging studio, called BLINK, to create better digital catalogues.
According to an Assocham-Forrester study, the estimated revenue of Indian e-commerce in 2016 was about $38 billion. The paper projected that the industry will grow to around $120 billion by 2020, which is a massive annual growth rate of about 51%.
While Rediff and Indiatimes were two of the country’s first online fashion retailers, they were later joined by a horde of companies including Ebay, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Myntra and Jabong. Amazon launched in India only after these websites did, in 2013.
