Former Union minister ND Tiwari was admitted to a private hospital in New Delhi on Wednesday after he suffered a brain stroke, his son Rohit Shekhar Tiwari said. Rohit Tiwari said his father fell unconscious in the morning while having tea at home.
According to a PTI report, sources at Max Hospital in the city said the 91-year-old former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand was in the Intensive Care Unit.
Nayaran Dutt Tiwari is the only Indian to have served as chief minister of two states. He also served as Minister of External Affairs in the Rajiv Gandhi cabinet, The Indian Express reported. In 2009, he resigned as governor of Andhra Pradesh after a local news channel had allegedly broadcast explicit clips of him with three women in the Raj Bhavan.
