Veteran actor Kamal Haasan on Thursday met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, amid rumours that he is going to launch his own political party in Tamil Nadu. Aam Aadmi Party leaders Ashutosh and Somnath Bharti also attended the meeting in Chennai, The News Minute reported.
After the meeting, Kejriwal told the media that Haasan should join politics. “When the country is facing strong forces of corruption and communalism, all like-minded people should talk to each other and work in tandem,” he said. Haasan said he met the AAP leader because they are like-minded in their fight against “corruption and communalism”.
The two, however, made no mention of Haasan’s foray into politics, or a political alliance.
On September 15, Haasan admitted he is likely join politics, but not with an existing party. “I don’t think my goals in politics can match the ideology of any political party,” he had said. Earlier, he had met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Some reports have claimed the actor will launch his political outfit by the end of the month.
