INS Trishul thwarts pirate attack on an Indian cargo ship in Gulf of Aden, says Navy
MV Jag Amar was targeted around noon while it was headed to Jubail in Saudi Arabia.

INS Trishul on Friday thwarted an attempt by pirates to attack a cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden, said Captain DK Sharma, a spokesperson for the Indian Navy. The attack took place at 12.30 pm on MV Jag Amar, an 85,000-tonne bulk carrier registered in India that was headed to Jubail in Saudi Arabia.
The Indian Navy’s Marine Commando Force was on board the vessel when the pirates targeted it, The Hindu quoted Sharma as saying.
