Air Force Day: We are prepared to fight a war at short notice, says Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa
He was speaking on the 85th anniversary of the Indian Air Force.
The Indian Air Force is prepared to fight a war at a short notice, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa said on Sunday, addressing personnel on Air Force Day. Following a terrorist attack on an Air Force base in Pathankot last year, security at all Air Force stations has been enhanced to counter any threats, he was quoted by PTI as saying.
Dhanoa was speaking at the Hindon Air Force base in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
He said that the Air Force was acquiring multi-spectrum strategic capabilities and was committed to building a “joint manship” with the Indian Army and the Navy.
On Thursday, Dhanoa had said India was ready for a two-front war if need arose, though chances of that happening are low.
Meanwhile, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted the Air Force on the occasion of its 85th anniversary.
