Haryana: New meat shops in residential areas won’t get licence, says Chief Minister ML Khattar
Besides, all shopkeepers will have to adhere to 21 conditions set by municipal bodies in order to get a licence.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said licences would not be issued to new meat shops that are set up in residential areas across the state, ANI reported.
Besides, all other meat shop owners will have to adhere to 21 conditions set by municipal bodies as per the Haryana government’s order in order to get a new licence. The conditions include no slaughtering of animals on the premises used to sell meat, ANI reported.
In May, nearly 666 outlets in Haryana had been shut after the chief minister ordered the closure of illegal slaughterhouses and meat shops.
Soon after taking over the Uttar Pradesh government in March, Chief Minister Adityanath had also ordered crackdown on unlicenced abattoirs in the state.
