Umang Bedi, the managing director of Facebook India and South Asia, has resigned, The Economic Times reported on Tuesday. “We confirm that Umang Bedi will be leaving his role and Facebook at the end of this year,” a company spokesperson said. “He’s built a really strong team and business during his time with us, and we wish him all the best.”

Sandeep Bhushan, who is the consumer and media director of Facebook in South Asia, will be the interim managing director, Mint reported. Bhushan is also a former Samsung IT and mobile business director, and the digital vice president of HT Media.

Bedi joined Facebook as the managing director in July 2016. Prior to that, he was the managing director, South Asia, at multinational computer software firm Adobe Systems Inc. Bedi succeeded Kirthiga Reddy, who returned to the United States to take over as the head of the Global Accounts team at Facebook’s Menlo Park headquarters.
