Militant killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Handwara, rifle and Pakistani currency found, says official
The encounter is still underway, the Indian Army said.
One militant was killed in an encounter with security forces on Sunday morning in Hajin area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Handwara district, ANI reported. The operation, carried out by nine para military and other security forces, is still underway.
A search operation was launched after the the security forces received information about the presence of militants in Langate area. The gun battle started in Ananwan around 5 am, Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia told IANS.
A grenade, a rifle and Pakistani currency were recovered from the militant, ANI reported.
