Telangana: Aircraft door crashes on terrace of a house in Secunderabad, no one hurt
It was part of training flight of the Telangana State Aviation Academy, and the pilot and trainee on board landed safely.
The metal door of an aircraft fell out and crashed on the terrace of a house in a dense residential area in Secunderabad on Monday, NDTV reported. The aircraft belonged to the Telangana State Aviation Academy. No one was hurt.
The aircraft was a training flight, and a pilot and trainee were on board. Both landed safely at the academy premises soon after the incident, the police said.
A man who lived in the house said he was on the lower floor when the door fell on his terrace. Luckily, a puja that was earlier scheduled at his house on Monday was postponed to Thursday, he told the Deccan Chronicle.
“If the puja had been performed today, the terrace where the door fell would have been packed with my relatives and the damage beyond imagination,” he was quoted as saying. “It is god’s grace that the puja was postponed and our lives were saved.”
A painter who was working on the terrace had gone downstairs for lunch when the aircraft door came crashing down.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has started an inquiry into the incident.
