The complainant said she had come to the temple town on September 17 and had been raped since September 22.
The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday said they had arrested a man in the temple town of Vrindavan for allegedly raping a 20-year-old Russian woman repeatedly since she arrived in India in September, PTI reported on Saturday. The woman has been sent for a medical examination.
“The manager of UCO Bank’s Vrindavan branch, Mahendra Prasad Singh, has been arrested based on a complaint filed by the woman,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Shanker Mishra told PTI.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that she met Singh on Facebook in November 2016. Singh had invited her to come to Vrindavan.
She said she had reached Vrindavan on September 17 and that Singh had raped her repeatedly since September 22. She alleged that the accused had threatened her with dire consequences after raping her.
