Tamil Nadu rains: Slight respite from showers on Sunday, but thousands displaced, areas waterlogged
At least 12 people across the state were killed after a week of heavy rain.

Chennai and its neighbouring districts had slight respite from the rain on Sunday morning, but water-logging was reported from some parts of the city and suburbs, PTI reported.
A week of heavy rain has killed at least 12 people across the state and left left thousands displaced, the government said in a statement, according to news reports.
The weather department has predicted very heavy rainfall until Monday.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswamy said 601 medical teams were taking care of residents in rain-affected areas across the state such as Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Nagapattinam, among others. “These medical camps will help prevent the spread of diseases,” he said.
