6.9-magnitude earthquake strikes Tibet, no casualties reported

A strong earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter Scale struck Tibet’s Nyingchi, close to the Arunachal Pradesh border, early on Saturday. There are no details yet about casualties and injuries, Xinhua reported.
The earthquake struck at 6.34 am local time. It was followed by a 5-magnitude quake two hours later, the China Earthquakes Network Centre said.
The Nyingchi government said the quake’s epicentre was an uninhabited region, and that it was yet to receive any casualty reports, The Independent reported.
