Kashmir: Security forces call off operation in Bandipora after militants escape, one soldier injured
Meanwhile, an alleged ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops was reported in the Uri sector.

Security forces on Thursday called off an operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district after the militants managed to flee the area, Rising Kashmir reported. A soldier was injured on Thursday morning after a gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Paribal village.
Officers began their search operation at 4 am. “We lifted the cordon and militants hiding in the area escaped as there was no contact after a brief shoot out,” Rising Kashmir quoted an unidentified police officer as saying.

Meanwhile, Pakistani troops allegedly fired at Indian posts along the Line of Control in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning, PTI reported.
Indian soldiers retaliated after the “unprovoked” firing in the Hajipeer area, an Army official said, adding that the firing from the Pakistani side began at 8 am.
No casualties have been reported so far, the official said.
