Four crew members sustained minor injuries during a “emergency landing” of an Indian Coast Guard helicopter near Nandgaon Beach in Maharashtra’s Murud on Sunday. A preliminary inquiry into the matter indicated that the crew managed to avoid populated areas and the sea while landing the helicopter after experiencing technical difficulties, Public Relations Officer Deputy Commandant Avinandan Mitra said.

Mitra refuted media reports that described the incident as a crash. “The CG 808 was on a routine surveillance sortie,” the statement said. The aircraft had started its journey in Mumbai.
