Delhi: Man kills 13-year-old daughter for talking to a boy in the neighbourhood, arrested
The father had filed a missing person’s report on March 7 to mislead the police.
The police on Saturday arrested a man for killing his 13-year-old daughter in North East Delhi’s Karawal Nagar area. The girl, a Class 7 student, had gone missing on March 7. Her body was found in Uttar Pradesh’s Tronica City on March 9.
The man, identified as Sudesh Kumar, told the police that he killed the girl as he had suspected that she was in love with a boy from the neighbourhood. In his confession to the police, he said that he had seen his daughter and the boy together many times. On March 7, when the girl went out of the house to buy momos, her father followed her and saw that she was talking to the boy. Enraged, he took her to the Loni Road area and slit her throat with a knife.
Kumar had filed a missing person’s report on March 7 to mislead the police. During investigation, the police found CCTV camera footage that showed the girl going towards Loni on a two-wheeler with a man. Since her father had a similar vehicle and helmet, the police suspected him and took him into custody for questioning. He confessed to killing his daughter during interrogation.
