Vietnam: 13 dead, 27 injured in fire at high-rise building in Ho Chi Minh City
The blaze erupted in the basement parking area of a residential complex with more than 700 apartments.
At least 13 people were killed and 27 injured after a fire broke out at a high-rise building in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City early on Friday, AP reported.
The fire broke out in the basement parking area of a residential complex with over 700 apartments. It took more than 200 firefighters over an hour to bring it under control.
The fire had started at about 1 am (11.30 pm Thursday Indian time).
“Most of the victims died from smoke inhalation, but we also found people who had died jumping from high windows,” an official told Reuters. “The injured are in stable condition now and we are still searching the block to make sure no one is still trapped in there.”
