Sonia Gandhi flown to Delhi after falling ill during visit to Shimla
The Congress leader is in a stable condition.
Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi was taken to New Delhi on Friday morning, hours after she fell ill in Shimla around midnight. She is in a stable condition, PTI reported.
Gandhi was in Shimla since Wednesday on a personal visit with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. She complained of restlessness on Thursday night, and left in her car for Chandigarh even as an ambulance joined her later.
She stopped for the night at a hotel in Chandigarh, and then left for Delhi by a special flight at 8.30 am, reports said. She reportedly had a breathing problem.
The 70-year-old has been reported to be unwell for months now. She was hospitalised in May 2017 and October 2017. She had undergone a shoulder surgery in 2016.
