Army jawan injured after suspected militants open fire at patrolling party in Tral, say reports
Security forces cordoned the area.
An Army soldier suffered bullet injuries after suspected militants opened fire at security officials who were patrolling the Seer area of South Kashmir’s Tral, reported Rising Kashmir on Tuesday.
An unidentified official said the Army’s 42 RR patrolling party retaliated with gunfire, following which the militants escaped from the spot, reported The Kashmir Monitor.
Soon after, reinforcements reached the spot and cordoned off the area to look for the militants.
South Kashmir Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Amit Kumar confirmed the attack on the patrolling party. “We are looking into the incident and verifying the details,” Kumar told Rising Kashmir.
The injured soldier is being treated at a military hospital.
