To mark Earth Day, today’s Google Doodle has a message from conservationist Jane Goodall
In the video, the ethologist says she hopes the doodle ‘reminds people across the globe that there is still so much in the world worth fighting for’.
Google’s doodle for Earth Day on Sunday included a message from conservationist Jane Goodall. “Every single individual matters,” the ethologist says in the video. “Every single individual makes some impact on the planet every single day, and we have a choice as to what kind of difference we’re going to make.”
Earth Day is an annual event that has been celebrated worldwide since April 22, 1970. Various events are organised across the globe to show support for environmental protection.
“It is so important in the world today that we feel hopeful and do our part to protect life on Earth,” Goodall says. “I am hopeful that this Earth Day Google Doodle will live as a reminder for people across the globe that there is still so much in the world worth fighting for. So much that is beautiful, so many wonderful people working to reverse the harm, to help protect species and their environments.”
