Delhi: 17-year-old kills his two-month-old baby after suspecting he was not his biological father
The teenager, who the police said had confessed to the crime, had been accusing his wife of having an extra-marital affair for a few months.
The police in Delhi arrested a teenager on Saturday for killing his two-month-old son as he suspected that his wife had an extra-marital affair and the baby was not his, PTI reported.
He killed the child allegedly by punching him repeatedly, the police said. Investigators found several of the infant’s bones fractured, the Hindustan Times reported.
The 17-year-old boy and his wife, also a minor, got married 10 months ago. The incident took place in Delhi’s Mangolpuri locality when the mother had gone to Palika Bazaar to look for a job and left the baby with her husband, the police said.
When she returned home, she found the baby lying motionless and took him to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. She informed the police after she could not find her husband.
The boy has admitted to the crime. The police said he had been quarrelling with his wife for a few months, accusing her of having an extra-marital affair.
Officers said they will seek legal advice in the matter as both parents of the child are minors.
