Singer Adnan Sami alleges Kuwait airport officials mistreated his staff, called them ‘Indian dogs’
Sami, who was in the West Asian country to perform at a live show, thanked Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj for helping them out.
Singer Adnan Sami, who was in Kuwait to perform a live show, on Sunday alleged that airport authorities in the west Asian country mistreated his staff members and called them “Indian dogs”.
“Kuwaiti airport immigration mistreated my staff [for] no reason and called [them] ‘Indian Dogs’!” he tweeted. “How dare [the] Kuwaitis behave like this with arrogance?” He tagged the Indian Embassy in Kuwait on his tweet.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju reportedly responded saying that Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj had taken notice of the matter, and urged Sami to speak to her, DNA reported. However, the tweet was deleted.
Sami later thanked Swaraj and praised her for helping out his staff members, and said that she was in touch with him. The singer, who has been in India since 2001, was granted citizenship in January 2017. The Ministry of Home Affairs granted him the right to stay in India indefinitely on humanitarian grounds in May 2015 after his Pakistani passport expired.
