Himachal Pradesh: Three arrested for allegedly raping Class 12 student in Manali, two absconding
A first information report has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The Himachal Pradesh Police have arrested three men for allegedly raping a Class 12 student in Manali, PTI reported on Wednesday. Two other accused are absconding, the police said.
On June 17, the police received a complaint that two Class 12 girls had gone missing. The girls were found on June 20. One of them alleged that three youths from Punjab had raped her, Superintendent of Police (Kullu) Shalini Agnihotri told PTI. The girl said that two locals had also raped her.
The three men were arrested from Punjab, the police officer said. A first information report has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. A local court remanded the accused in police custody.
