Lok Sabha members can now ask only five questions a day instead of 10
The new rule will come into effect from the Monsoon Session, which will begin on July 18.
A member of the Lok Sabha can now ask a maximum of five questions in a day instead of 10. The new rule will come into effect from the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which will begin on July 18.
The Lok Sabha speaker’s direction 10B, which says members can give notices for not more than 10 queries a day, has been amended due to the number of notices for questions exceeding 230 per day, the Lok Sabha Questions Cell said in a bulletin signed by Lok Sabha Secretary General Snehlata Srivastava.
If a member submits notices for asking more than five questions, the remaining queries will be allowed only the following day, the bulletin said.
The bulletin also asked the members to inform the Question Cell if they prefer to submit notices for their questions for the entire session at one go.
