A Bharatiya Janata Party legislator from Uttar Pradesh on Friday claimed that the rising population of Muslims in the country is responsible for terrorism and increasing rapes. Hari Om Pandey, an MP from Ambedkar Nagar, said that the increase would also lead to “anarchy”, reported ANI.

“Terrorism, rapes, cases of sexual harassment are prevailing only because of the rising Muslim population,” he said. “If one looks closely, there has been a rapid increase in the percentage of Muslims since the time of independence.”

Pandey said that Muslims marry three to four times and have nine to 10 kids. “If they don’t get education and end up unemployed, it will obviously lead to anarchy,” he said. He alleged that the Muslim community was now demanding the implementation of Sharia law and would later demand another Pakistan.

Pandey said that a bill on the issue should be introduced in Parliament and proper steps taken to stop population growth. “I believe that a bill on population control must be introduced in the Parliament in order to save India from another dreadful partition,” he said.
