Mobile internet services will remain suspended in several parts of Rajasthan from 9 am to 1 pm on Sunday to prevent cheating during a state public service commission examination.

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission is conducting the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Combined Competitive Exam-2018 at more than 1,400 centres on Sunday. Nearly five lakh candidates have applied for 1,017 government posts and the exam will be conducted from 10 am to 1 pm, PTI reported.

Jaipur Divisional Commissioner T Ravikanth said mobile internet services will be suspended in the city as well as in Alwar, Dausa, Jhunjhunu and Sikar districts of Jaipur division, The Times of India reported. Services in Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Ajmer districts will also be affected.

Rajasthan Public Service Commission Secretary PC Berwal said candidates will be frisked before they enter the exam hall and a dress code has been fixed as well.

This is the third time mobile internet services have been suspended in the state in a month to prevent cheating during exams. On July 14 and 15, mobile internet services were suspended during the the police constable recruitment examination. The recruitment examination was cancelled in March, when it was held online for the first time, after a Special Operations Group busted a ‘hi-tech real-time cheating racket’.
