Instant love stories, whipped, baked and served in less than ten minutes: Love Shots is aptly named. The first of six web films produced by YFilms under the Yash Raj Films banner and directed by musician-turned-filmmaker Ankur Tewari is out on YFilms’ YouTube channel. The cast for these films includes acting talent represented by Yash Raj Films as well as actors working outside the banner.

The Road Trip, starring Nimrat Kaur and Tahir Raj Bhasin, is the story of a sparring couple with a broken down car on a highway, waiting for help. They discuss their relationships and the neat little story folds up with a sting in the tale.

In Textbook, two school children bond over books as their teacher, played by lyricist Swanand Kirkire looks on. In Koi Dekh Lega, featuring Saqib Saleem and Shweta Tripathi, a blind couple flirts while waiting for a bus.

The remaining three films are called Fired (featuring Tillotama Shome and music composer Salim Merchant), Scandal Point (Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Farida Jalal) and The Big Date (Rhea Chakraborty, Saba Azad and Mohit Marwah).

Director Ankur Tewari has also composed the song for The Road Trip short. Each short has a song attached to it, by such artists as Anand Bhaskar Collective, Shaan & Superbia, Gaurav Dagaonkar and Subhi Khanna.

“We have made web series like Man’s World and Bang Baaja Baaraat and with this new set of web films we want to take it further,” said Ashish Patil, Y-Films vice president, Brand Partnerships and Talent Management. “For this series we have collaborated with an incredible set of musicians to take the story forward.”

The films will be showcased on their Youtube channel once a fortnight, with The Road Trip taking the lead.
