Basil Content Media announced the names of five Indian filmmakers that it has selected to sponsor to Platform Busan, a four-day networking and learning initiative that is conducted at the Busan International Film Festival in October. According to a press release, Film and Television Institute of India graduates Piyush Dinkar Thakur and Heer Ganjwala, Marathi filmmaker and producer Gargi Kulkarni, Malayalam filmmaker Vidhu Vincent and documentary filmmaker Antariksh Jain have been chosen from over 120 applications received by the Mumbai-based Media company.
Held from October 14-18, Platform Busan is meant to give regional filmmakers an opportunity to take part in seminars, forums and workshops.
“We want to build a resource base for filmmakers across India and we hope that this one collaboration marks the first of many more to come,” Vivek Kajaria, founder of Basil Media, said in the press release.
The Busan International Film Festival will open on October 12.
