The director of music publishing at Disney, Jon Heely, has been charged with alleged child sexual assault, reported Variety.
According to the magazine, the 58-year-old Disney executive was accused of three felony counts of “lewd and lascivious acts” on Wednesday. Following the accusation, the media giant has suspended Heely until the matter is resolved in the court. “Immediately upon learning of this situation tonight, he has been suspended without pay until the matter is resolved by the courts,” a Disney spokesperson told Variety in a statement.
However, Heely has denied the allegation. “He vehemently denies these allegations and we will be fighting until the end to clear his name,” Heely’s attorney Robert Helfend said. “It’s a shame, that’s all I’ve got to say.”
The report added that Heely was arrested on November 16, and was subsequently released on a $1,50,000 bail. He is accused of sexually abusing two underage girls almost a decade ago. The reported claimed that the girls were 15 and 11 years of age when Heely abused them.
