Darkest Hour director Joe Wright will turn his attention next to the screen adaptation of AJ Finn’s bestselling novel The Woman in the Window, Variety reported. The screenplay will be written by Tracey Letts (August, Osage County), and the movie will be produced by Hollywood veteran Scott Rudin.

The Woman in the Window is Finn’s debut novel. The thriller is about Anna Fox, a child psychologist who is agoraphobic and cannot step outside her Manhattan apartment. She develops an interest in the Russell family across the street and begins spying on them. She sees an act that appears to be violent, but her fears are dismissed by the police on account of her drinking habit.

Joe Wright’s credits include Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, Hanna and Pan. Darkest Hour, his biopic of Winston Churchill, earned lead performer Gary Oldman an Oscar for Best Actor.
