The teaser for Shelly Chopra Dhar’s Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga juxtaposes the song from the Anil Kapoor-starrer 1942: A Love Story (1994) with a reworked 2018 version. The assertion is that love stories have gone from being “simple” to “syaapa”, or full of problems, in that duration.
Produced by Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films, the film is centred on Sweety Chaudhary (Sonam Kapoor Ahuja) and her travails with love. The cast includes Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla. Themes of marriage and infidelity are fused into this premise, according to the official synopsis. This is father-daughter duo Sonam and Anil Kapoor’s first film together. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is scheduled to be released on October 12.
Kapoor Ahuja recently appeared in Shashanka Ghosh’s Veere Di Wedding, and also features in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju, which will be released on Friday.
