The first trailer for Reed Morano’s Sundance Film Festival winner I Think We’re Alone Now is out. Peter Dinklage plays Del, who is, along with teenager Grace (Elle Fanning), one of two people left behind on Earth following a cataclysmic event. The film was premiered at Sundance, where it won a special jury award for excellence in filmmaking, and will be released on September 21.

“I like the post-apocalyptic genre, but it’s been done a million times, and I was looking for something a little bit weird, or just a little bit different tonally,” Morano told Entertainment Weekly. “I saw this opportunity to tell a post-apocalyptic story that breaks a lot of the conventions of storytelling in that genre.”

Morano, the cinematographer of Frozen River (2008) and Kill Your Darlings (2013), made her directing debut with Meadowland in 2015. She won an Emmy for directing the first three episodes of the Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale.
