An African American girl is desperate to tame her wild curls and get a hairdo that she has seen in a video tutorial. Why? The answer seems to have won Hair Love the Oscar for Best Animated Short film this year. The film has been directed by Matthew A Cherry, Everett Downing Jr and Bruce W Smith and features the voice of Issa Rae.
