This video explains why fish has been raining from the skies in Andhra Pradesh
It’s raining fish. You read that right. On Friday, the villagers of Gollamudi in Andhra Pradesh suddenly started noticing that the rain was a little heavier than usual, because fish of 4-5 inches in size were falling out of the sky. What may sound like a Biblical, supernatural occurence, actually isn't all that uncommon, with people across the world and over centuries reporting not just fish, but frogs, worms, water birds, tomatoes, lumps of coal, and even a sailboat falling from the sky.
Although the phenomenon is not fully understood, researches believe this may occur due to the waterspout phenomenon, thanks to tornado-like winds which occur over water bodies. During this process, strong winds moving in upward direction may reach up to the speed of 321 km/h and swallow aquatic animals including fish, frogs and worms into its wind funnel. Once the waterspout halts, it starts dropping things from its funnel, turning your local monsoon into something slightly more unusual.
