From one legend to another: "Viru, it's been a privilege to have played international cricket with you"
A short but sweet message from the Wall to the Nawab of Najafgarh.
The first day of the fourth Test between India and South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla must have been a proud moment for Virender Sehwag: the "Nawab of Najafgarh" was honoured and felicitated in a special programme on the sidelines of the match.
But there was another special moment for Sehwag in the form of a tribute from one of his old team-mates. Rahul Dravid, who was Sehwag's partner in their famous 410-run partnership at Lahore in 2006, sent a special video message where he thanked his former opener for "bringing so much joy and happiness to people with the way he played the game".
"You can be very very proud", said Dravid. "And your family can be very, very proud of what you have done and what you have achieved for Indian cricket".
Sehwag announced his retirement from all forms of the game in October though he recently played in the recent All-Stars series in the United States and will also play in the Masters Champions League in the United Arab Emirates next year.
