India’s most hated (or loved, depending on which side of the fence you lean on) cricketer Rohit Sharma got off his Australian tour with a well-composed 67 in a warm-up game against Western Australia XI at Perth.

Sharma looked his typically stylish self, hitting three big sixes and unfurling a range of glorious cover drives. However, his tendency to throw it away came back to haunt him as he fell in the 22nd over, when he should have gone on to get a big one.

Apart from Sharma, India’s batsmen did not have the best of days, with both Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli falling cheaply and only Ajinkya Rahane getting a useful 41. However, youngster Manish Pandey impressed with a 59-ball 58, holding the Indian innings together as India reached 249.

India’s bowlers made a better impression, though, putting in a disciplined performance to bowl Western Australia XI out for 185. Rishi Dhawan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel took two wickets apiece. India’s new exciting left-arm find Barinder Sran did not take a wicket, but gave away only 22 runs in his seven overs. Watch the full highlights below:
