Real Madrid's favourite – or not – son Cristiano Ronaldo is miffed. Maybe he has reason to be. Earlier in the year, he missed out on winning a third straight Ballon d'Or with the honours going to Barcelona rival Lionel Messi. And now questions are being raised about his goal-scoring ability in away games.

At a press conference ahead of Real Madrid's round of 16 clash with AS Roma in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, Ronaldo did not take too kindly to questions about why he had not been able to score away from home since Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Eibar in November 2015.

“Who else has scored more goals away from home than me since I arrived in Spain?” asked Ronaldo. “Name one player who has scored more than me?"

"No answer? There aren't any. Ok. Thank you"

With that riposté, he picked up his jacket and walked away from the conference.

It did seem a rather rude question to ask the Portuguese football star. Ronaldo has scored 32 goals in all competitions this season, with 21 of them at home and 11 away. He broke the Champions League record for most goals scored in a league competition this season, scoring 11, and also enjoys the distinction of being the all-time top goal-scorer in the tournament with 88 goals in 121 appearances.

Admittedly, he has not scored in the four away games that Madrid have played since their November match. But that hardly means that he has lost the ability to score away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
