Tajamul Islam is like any ordinary seven-year old girl. But her kicks pack quite a punch. So much so that this small wonder from an obscure village in north Kashmir has become the national kickboxing champion and is all set to represent the country at the World Kickboxing Championships in Italy.

The school-going child, who weighs only 25 kg according to The Daily Mail, has been winning laurels ever since she won the state championship and then picked up the gold at the national level, paving the way for her selection at the World Championship.

Islam's father is a truck driver in a construction company, and all her siblings practise martial arts too. It was her elder brother Raziul who enrolled her at the Sports Academy. Her coach Faisal Ali Dar has been profuse in his praise of the young seven-year-old, saying she shows absolutely no fear, even when taking on opponents older and stronger than her.
