Cricketers are... well, cricketers. For all their skills on the field, you can't really blame them for not being the most natural people on earth when performing in other ways for the camera. (Except, of course, Virat Kohli.)

But naturally, cricket being the multi-billion dollar sport it is in India, cricketers can never be away from the arc lights. So that's why some of the Indian Premier League franchise Gujarat Lions' biggest stars starred in an advert of Gujarat Tourism...with hilarious results.

The highlights of the ad include Dwane Bravo enthusiastically shouting, "Har har Mahadev," in his Caribbean drawl; Praveen Kumar, wearing dark sunglasses and swinging a colourful umbrella, somewhat ominously droning, "Bye bye, bye bye," and James Faulkner swinging a dandiya stick, much like he would a cricket bat.

Admittedly, things have changed. Cricketers are not as awkward when they are on the camera anymore. Because there was a time once when Sourav Ganguly decided to pit his dancing skills against Hrithik Roshan. And, well, you can see the results below. The video is a little pixelated but the extent of the damage is clear.

In case, you stop being a Dada fan after watching this, don't say we didn't warn you.

Also, that leads us to ask: did former Indian captains have a problem looking natural on screen? Here's Mohammad Azharuddin in that cult "Nothing Official About It" ad from the 1996 World Cup. He does everything in the ad, runs, catches, throws... but the most hilarious moment is his expression when he spots a bottle of Pepsi. With the memory of his recent biopic firmly in mind, you have to check this out:

But it's best to remain calm. Not all Indian cricketers were as awkward. Ajay Jadeja even acted in a movie. And he seems quite smooth around Bipasha Basu in this Close Up ad. Not that it makes it any less funny!
