Video: Three goals in four matches? The Copa America has started off on a miserly note
All the highlights from the first four matches, including the few goals that have been scored.
The Copa America has a reputation for providing skilful, scintillating football and plenty of goals. But while the start of this edition has provided some of the former, there's been a distinct lack of the latter.
Only three goals have been scored in the first four matches, with two of them coming in one match. These two came in the first game on Saturday where Colombia completed a convincing win over the United States, with Colombian wunderkind James Rodriguez also getting on the scoresheet. Unfortunately, he got injured in the second-half, which will have spoiled the result somewhat for his team.
The third goal in the tournament came in the relatively low-profile clash between Haiti and Peru. The South Americans won 1-0, thanks to a diving header from striker Paolo Guerrero but Haiti will rue the fact they missed an absolute sitter in the 94th minute of play.
Elsewhere, perennial favourites Brazil escaped with a goalless draw against Ecuador in an entertaining match. Both sides play exciting football but Ecuador will feel they were unlucky – an excellent goal from an unreal angle from Christian Bolaños was ruled out after the linesman said it had gone out of play.
