All cat videos are sublime, of course, but even among them, the most popular ones exhibit unusual cat behaviour. For instance, when a cat reacts to seemingly normal actions by trying to hide.
Sadly, this display of fear may also mean that the cat has been abused in the past.
Cats have strong memories, storing both positive and negative experiences. And even the slightest neglect generates stress.
When Cinnamon, an elderly abandoned cat, was brought into foster care, her caretakers didn’t need to enquire into her past.
The 17-year-old cat wore all her emotional baggage on her face – eyes that seemed to radiate hatred for humans (video above). The foster parent narrates how the cat, who suffered from deteriorating health, refused to get close to humans.
But there’s a happy ending: Cinnamon and her caretakers eventually bonded, with mutual love.
