Pakistan: Mob involved in university student’s lynching celebrates his death in video
If the murder wasn’t bad enough, there’s this too.
A week ago, a vigilante mob in Mardan, Pakistan thrashed and then killed a student, Mashal Khan, of Abdul Wali Khan University – and seriously injured another – for alleged blasphemy. On Tuesday, a new video began to be circulated, showing Khan’s killers celebrating his death. In the video, a man also asks the students to take an oath not to reveal the name of the killers, saying that doing so would amount the blasphemy.
According to Dawn, here’s the full text of what is being said in the video:
“Congratulations, congratulations!
Silence, silence!
Whoever shot him [Mashal], don’t take his [the shooter’s] name
Whoever takes his [shooter’s] name will commit blasphemy. If you want to file an FIR, my name is Arif”
