After 100 days of the Donald Trump presidency in the US, who better than the country’s longest-running animated series to provide a perspective?

Thunder claps and a spooky White House greet the United States in a new short video by the creators of The Simpsons. Press secretary Sean Spicer is hanging from a noose, advisors Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner are strangling one another, but the orange-haired president is not affected.

“A hundred days in office, so many accomplishments,” Trump says in the video. “Lowered my golf handicap, my Twitter following increased by 700, and finally, we can shoot hibernating bears! My boys’ll love that!”

Most US comedians have also offered their take on Trump’s 100 days as president, and his failure to make good on campaign promises. Stephen Colbert, host of the The Late Show, sardonically listed the former real estate magnate’s shortcomings: “He still hasn’t filled his cabinet, he didn’t repeal Obamacare, there are still Muslims.”

“We may have a government shutdown if Congress doesn’t pass a budget,” Colbert continued. “And Trump is so desperate to have something to show for his first 100 days that he just threw in funding for the border wall – which may kill the bill and make the United States financially insolvent. So, Trump really is running the country like one of his businesses.”

Meanwhile, for The Daily Show host, Trevor Noah, time had come to a standstill: “It’s 100 days in Trump time. For us, it’s 15 years.” He, too, noted the lack of accomplishments, adding that US president would not get points for trying, “Boy Scouts don’t earn badges for trying to help an old lady across the street. They either help her across or she gets crushed by an 18-wheeler.”
