Tinkle comics are back in a digital avatar
Would you rather watch Suppandi than read the comics? Tinkle is hoping you will. Or may your children will.
To mark creator Anant "Uncle" Pai’s 86th birth anniversary, Tinkle has ported its well-known comic book to a YouTube channel named Suppandi & Friends.
The way comic-book readers remember him, Suppandi is the affable goof with a Fido Dido-esque hairdo, constantly bungling simple tasks. Now he gets a chance to do it in animation. Also on the digital movie platform is Shikari Shambhu, the inadvertently lucky hunter.
And then there's a new series as well – Defective Detectives, featuring two child detectives creating mysteries out of thin air, and described as "the most disastrous duo in the Tinkle universe".
There are twenty-four animated comics from these titles up so far on the channel. They're likely to be joined by other popular characters from Tinkle, such as Tantri the Mantri.
