Watch: What happens when you try to dodge your hotel bill? You get stuck 19 floors up in mid-air

It’s safer to just pay up.


How far will you go to avoid paying your hotel bill? Surely not as far as this man in China, who risked his life to dodge paying up.

The man decided to escape out of his window by climbing telephone wires connected to a neighbouring building. However, there was a catch – both buildings were high-rises, with our man staying on the 19th floor.

Inevitably, he got entangled in the wires and was stuck mid-air, which gave bystanders plenty of time to capture videos (above) of the entire incident. He ultimately had to be rescued by firefighters – who informed him he was hanging dangerously close to high-tension power lines – and was later escorted away by the police. The value of his hotel bill is still not known.
