While adults sometimes argue about what “gender equality” really is, the video above suggests that even very young children get it.

Finansforbundet, the Finance Sector Union of Norway, conducted a social experiment on International Women’s Day to give some children “a taste of work life” and check if they understood gender inequality.

The candy handed out as reward was not equal in amount for girls and boys. The children were shocked at this unfairness. A little boy said, “She was just as good as me, so we should get the same reward. Because otherwise it’s unfair.” One of the girls exclaimed, “There is no difference between boys and girls!”

And hence the question asked in the video: “Unequal pay is unacceptable in the eyes of children. Why should we accept this as adults?”

Everyone is beginning to ask the same question. According to the Google Trends video below, the search for gender equality and related subjects on the search engine is up by 90 percent
