Watch: Was this crow trying to buy a train ticket for itself? Obviously not, but it looked that way
What a pity reality didn’t prove stranger than fiction.

At the busy Kinschicho train station in Tokyo recently, a crow decided to try to use a ticket machine with a credit card in its beak.
Maybe not, but no one could be blamed for thinking it was.
The video above shows the bird pecking at the screen and changing the display, seemingly preparing to use a credit card it had stolen from a woman. The owner of the card eventually got it back as she waited patiently and allowed the crow do its thing.
The video has gone viral for obvious reasons. Vastly amused viewers have their own theories of what was going on. A commentator wrote, “I get it. Plane tickets are expensive.” Another remarked, “I bet that crow is faster than some people who use the self checkout machines.”
In case you’re wondering, the crow wasn’t able to purchase a ticket eventually. Alas.
